10 Minute Trainer Success Story – John Manzella (57-years-old)
John Manzella, like many Americans, had lower back pain. He also had limited mobility that was caused by degenerative disk disease. He was on a lot of medication just to help him to cope with the pain, and he had gone to lots of different doctors in several different fields to attempt to find a solution. The Doctors told him that if he wanted to take care of the back pain the best option would be to remove the disk and fuse the spine. He did not consider this to be a viable option.
John had attempted several workouts, but all of them were too hard on his back, leaving him in a lot of pain. He felt hopeless. Then he found 10 Minute Trainer. He loved 10 Minute Trainer because it gave him the flexibility to modify the workout according to his special needs. This allowed him to begin a workout regimen that would not hurt his back or cause the horrible pain that he had been accustomed to feeling after a workout.
In addition to following the workout plan, John followed the 10 Minute Trainer’s Meal Plan. When he needed a snack, he ate a P90X Protein Bar. This powerful combination helped John to burn 30 pounds that he had previously never been able to touch.
Getting the Best Results From Tony Horton's 10 Minute Trainer
Tony Horton's 10 Minute Trainer was instantly popular among people who simply did not have a lot of free time to work out every day, or they just didn't want to spend an hour every day at the gym. Along with this set of 10 minute workouts, there are a number of things that can be done to make them even more effective. Being able to spend less time working out, while still getting good results holds an obvious appeal, especially for people who just want to look and feel better.
Dr. Barry Franklin, a spokesperson for the American Heart Associations “Choose to Move” Program stated that “We have... overemphasized the value of structured exercise and under-emphasized the value of lifestyle physical activity as a way to get more fitness into out lives”. He goes on to state that the real key is disguising exercise. “You can actually get as much benefit from daily activity as you can by going to a gym... maybe more”. Several studies have concluded that simply leading a more active lifestyle can provide the same benefits as going to the gym.
More importantly, a more active lifestyle can actually benefit your structured workouts, which can prove especially useful when using short workout routines, such as Tony Horton's 10 Minute Trainer. Dino Novak, a master trainer at the Cooper Institute (Dallas, TX), argues that the move you move in your daily life, the more benefits you can gain from your workouts, regardless of how short they are.
If you are fairly sedentary all week, once you actually do start your workout, there is a lot of ground to cover before you will get any real, measurable progress. This is because a large portion of your workout is spent compensating for your sedentary lifestyle rather than actually improving your situation. Additionally, if you are sedentary, but primarily use machines when at the gym, then you are not gaining any “real world” benefits. This is because machines are based upon a fixed, linear path, which is not often found in your daily life. If you are carrying groceries up to your second story apartment and try to balance everything while you unlock your door, all of the fixed linear training that you have done will not help much.
As you can see, the best way to gain an everyday benefit from working out is to increase the amount of activity that you are doing in your daily life. Simple things such as walking the dog or the store, or climbing the stairs instead of the elevator, can boost the return that you get from your short workout routines. Tony Horton's 10 Minute Trainer allows you to only use a structured workout for 10 minutes a day and uses real-world, non-linear exercises. Coupling this program with a more active lifestyle can drastically increase your results.
