Possible Questions

Will I have a six-pack when I finish P90X?
Maybe…maybe not…It will all depend upon your own physiology. You may be fit enough right now to get a six-pack before the end of P90X, or you may have a bit more to work off before a six-pack can make its appearance. It is also important to note that your results will completely depend upon how hard you are willing to push yourself. I have seen some people who seem to make very little improvements, but I have also seen people who have made astonishing results in just a month…..So, to answer your question, it will completely depend upon you.

Can I do P90X?
Probably, every case is unique, and everyone should consult a doctor before extreme exercise. However, there have been lots of cases where individuals have lost hundreds of pounds with P90X. It is not uncommon for people to modify P90X to suit their individual needs. If you cannot complete an exercise, take the liberty to modify it according to your physical needs.

Is there a diet?
Yes, just like construction, if you want to build a house you will need both the labor and the materials. A house will not be built on sweat alone. That being said, you can do the workouts without following the diet…..You probably just will not get the results that you were hoping to attain.

Will I need any exercise equipment?
Yes, there are a few pieces of equipment that are a necessary part of the workout. P90X is largely made up of resistance workouts. That means that you will need something to resist your movements. You will need a chin up bar or a set of resistance bands. Also, you will want some hand weights.

How many calories will I burn?
This will vary depending upon you height, weight, heart rate, and other contributing factors such as how much effort was put into the workout. In general, an average person will roughly burn 600 calories per workout. However, I have seen these numbers vary from 500 to 800 calories

How much weight will I lose?
Unknown. Each person is too different to give an expected amount of weight loss. The only thing that is certain is that the more effort you put into the program, the more weight you will lose. Commit and Succeed.

P90X vs P90X Plus
P90X Plus is the next step in the P90X program, and it is highly recommended that you complete the original P90X program at least once (probably more) before attempting P90X Plus. It is intended for individuals who consider themselves athletes to attain a higher level of fitness. It is very intense.

How much weight will I lose?
This is impossible to answer because it the results will vary from individual. Each person is unique, and each person will bring different levels of commitment. If you want to achieve results quickly then you must be ready to give everything that you have, plus a little more. Oh yes, and follow the P90X diet. Everything there is listed for a specific reason.

How much space is needed for P90X?
Some individuals have been known to use P90X in hotel rooms which should give you a pretty good idea of the small space that is required. It is recommended to have a pull-up bar, so it would be optimal to have a location that will allow the use of one. However, if space is a concern, then you can buy some workout bands as a substitute for the pull-up bar.

Can I miss a workout?
Occasionally yes, but you should not make it a habit. Workout schedules are important, and they are easy to mess up. If you want the optimum results then you should try to stick to the program. However, do not be alarmed if you do miss a workout. Progress will not be `1lost; it just won’t be gained that day.

Do I need the P90X Supplements?
Not necessarily, the P90X supplements were created to give you an easy way to give your body the important vitamins and minerals to achieve great results. You can get this same nutrition through a proper diet. If you plan your meals appropriately, then no, you do not need the supplements. However, if you want a simple option to ingest those vitamins and minerals, then this is a great way to do it.

How long until you start seeing results?
Results will start immediately, but it typically takes about one month before the visual results start becoming dramatic. This is just an average, so don’t be surprised if you notice some great changes in just a couple of weeks.

Is the meal plan necessary?
It depends; do you want the best results for your strenuous efforts? Your body has very specific vitamin and mineral needs, and those needs increase as your physical activity increases. If you do not feed your body what it is asking for, then it will literally start to eat itself. This will also have the unfortunate side effect of not building muscle because it won’t have the materials. Basically, a proper diet is pretty important.

How much will P90X help a skinny person?
It depends on what you are trying to achieve. P90X definitely builds muscle, but it is primarily designed to make your muscles toned. To clarify it is designed to turn you into an athlete, but it isn’t designed to make you look like a weight lifter.

How many calories should I consume while doing P90X?
Before answering this question, I feel that I must say that P90X comes with a simple nutrition guide that takes out the calculations involved with workout diets. Ok, if you want to plan your own diet, you will need to know how many calories you will need to consume.

Step 1 – You will need to calculate your Resting Metabolic Weight (RMR).
                                     RMR = Body Weight x 10
Step 2 – You will need to calculate your daily activity burn
                           Daily Activity Burn = RMR X .20 (20%)
Step 3 – You will need to replace the calories that you burn while doing P90X
                                Average Burned Calories = 600
Step 4 – Total the numbers, and you will have the total calories that you should consume each day.

Example
165 pound man
RMR = 165 x 10 = 1650 calories
Daily Activity Burn = 1650 x .20 = 330 Calories
Daily Burned Calories = 600 Calories
Total = 1650 + 330 + 600 = 2580 Total Calories

I need to loss over 100 pounds. Can I use P90X?
Probably, some of the most famous users of P90X lost hundreds of pounds. It is important to have a physician check your overall health before beginning the program because it is a very strenuous workout. Don’t worry if you can’t complete each day’s workout. The most important thing is to keep exercising. Your weight will drop, your muscles will build, and your overall life will improve dramatically. Obviously, your health is worth fighting for.

How to mentally prepare for P90X.
Working out is a battle of the mind, and the body is just a foot soldier. If you want to start and complete P90X then you will need a strategy to maintain motivation. Sit down and think for awhile. What will motivate you? Some people need encouragement from people, others will need to catalog their changes in weight, and others will need to take pictures every day to visually see the changes. Find your motivation and focus on it.

How does the P90X program work?
The 90 days of P90X are split up into 3 separate phases, and each phase is split up into 4 weeks. The first 3 weeks of each phase is filled with intense alternating workouts. When you reach the 4th week of each phase, you get to enjoy a recovery week. Recovery week is a more laid back workout schedule. It is still difficult, but it will give your muscles a bit of a break.

P90X vs the Gym
Most people find that for them P90X was much better than a gym on a pure physical and environmental basis (Financial savings aside). However, do not let that discourage you from a gym route because there are many people that find that the environment and weight lifting tools that a gym provides suit them better. The most important thing is to find the environment that keeps you working.
