Common questions
Does Insanity Workout Work Well? Yes, it does. It is a proven system that brings results to all people that truly commit to it. You will see wonderful changes as long as you follow the workout, give everything, and very importantly…follow the diet. A lot of people have a surprising amount of trouble with the diet. It is worth following because it will allow your body to work with the materials that it will desperately need.
Can I start Insanity if I am out of shape? Almost everyone that buys the Insanity Workout program is trying to get into shape. You can use Insanity even if you have weight to lose. However, you should check with a doctor to make sure that you can do a workout as intense as Insanity. When you do workout, keep in mind that everyone in the videos are already fit. You will probably not be able to keep up with them, and that is ok. If you start to get to exhausted, pause the workout and come back when you are ready.
What preparation should I do before starting? There are three types of preparation that you should undertake before you start the Insanity Workout. First, it will be important to attain all the proper equipment that will be required for Insanity Workout. T
Equipment Shoes – You will want a good pair of shoes to help absorb the impacts from your workouts, so that your joints will not be damaged. Also, the shoes will provide some extra grip that will help immensely in almost all of the exercises.
Plyometrics Mat – A plyometrics mat is great for the joints and wonderful for the back. Just like the shoes, you will appreciate the cushioning for the joints, and the extra bit of grip that will make successfully performing the exercises a bit easier.
Water Bottle – You will need to keep water handy, so make sure that you have a water bottle close by that you can use during your workouts. Someone who is hydrated will obviously perform much better than someone who isn’t.
Physcial Water – Drink your 64 ounces of water throughout the seven days leading up to your first day. The beneficial effects of water cannot be underestimated. Every function in your body depends on water, and there will be a noticeable improvement in energy and endurance when you drink the appropriate amount of water.
Diet Your diet is extremely important…obviously. Cut out the unhealthy habits of fast food and ice cream, and switch over to a more natural diet of fruits, vegetables, and lean meats. Your body will function better which will be very helpful when paired with your workouts.
Mental This is the most important factor in preparing for a workout program. Most people give up on their workouts shortly after beginning because they lost the battle in their minds before they even started the first workout. You must prepare yourself for any argument for laziness that your mind will come up with. Make a combative statement for each of these arguments, and use them. Do not let your mind wander over any lazy thoughts.
Do I need to keep doing Insanity Workout after I finish it to maintain my results? You will want to continue some level of exercise to keep your results. However, you will not need to work out nearly as hard as you did to achieve your results. Your body just needs to be reminded that those muscles are still necessary. Stretching is not quite as effective as a full workout, but it is a great way to maintain your muscles.
How many calories do you burn? One session will typically burn anywhere from 600 to 800 calories. There have been studies, and some of the participants burned an excess of 1000 calories. That is an incredible amount in case you didn’t know. Your results will be determined based upon multiple factors. One factor is your effort. The more you give, the more you get.
How much room do you need? You do not need a lot of space. The space needed changes with each person. The general rule is that you have plenty of space if you can lay down on the floor, turn yourself in a circle, and not hit anything.
Can I miss a day? Not recommended, but yes you can. Your results will not be as good, but you will continue to improve as long as you choose to workout.
Should I start with Insanity or P90X? It will depend on your focus. Do you want more bulk, or do you want a body like a toned runner.
P90X Bulk isn’t the focus of P90X, so you won’t look like a weight lifter. P90X does have a lot of resistance workouts, so you will gain a healthy and impressive amount of bulk.
Insanity Insanity is filled with intense cardio exercises which will build muscle, but not the bulky kind. As long as you follow the program, you will lose a lot of body fat, and your muscles will tone. You will feel much more energetic during and especially by the end of Insanity.
What should I do if I can’t complete the workouts? Keep doing the workouts. Tony Horton (creator of P90X) is famous for saying, “Do your best, and forget the rest.” If you keep working out and eating right, you will eventually be able to finish the workout. If you need to stop, then stop. You will can always come back later in the day, or even the next day. The important thing is to push your limits, so that you can extend them.
Will Insanity Workout give me a six-pack? I can’t guarantee that you will get it within a single 60-day session, but if you stick to the program and diet. Eventually, yes, you will probably get a six-pack. The results are always impressive for those who commit to the workouts. Why not take a glance at some of the success stories that are circulating the internet. Youtube has a lot of great results videos, and they can show you what you can expect.

What should I eat? Simple, exactly what the included nutritional guide tells you. It is all laid out, so this should not even be a concern. Your diet will mostly consist of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and lean meats.
Does Insanity help you gain bulk? Some, but it will mostly burn your excess fat, and tone your muscles. You will build muscles, but it will not be of the bulky variety.

I started the insanity workout on Monday April 4th and I weighed 153. I weighed myself today 4/8 and I weigh 146. I can't believe I lost 7lbs in 4 days. The insanity workouts are really hard and are challenging. I love the fact that I have to push myself and I love the results I'm getting. Will definitely reccommend this to anyone!!!!

Before starting Insanity I thought I was pretty fit, ofcourse actually starting the workout showed me different... I have finished 1 cycle and I am going back in for round 2... This is by far the best homebased workout on the market. The results are incredible if you stick close to the diet and workout as recommended.

I really wish I could give this 10 stars!!! Today I started the program for a second time. In the first 60 days I've lost 26lb and 20.25 inches! Taking into consideration that Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas all were during my workout period, I consider this a great success! I've recommended this to everyone I know! :D

Half way through the fit test my husband said "let's do the rest tomorrow". We were pooped! We did finish on the same day. We can't even survive 8 minutes....... !
Today will be our 6th day. I already feel so much more energized, once my insane soreness went away! Pretty sad being so sore that you can't even walk. lol
We are hanging in there and proud of ourselves that we suffered through the 6 days. And looking forward to better results next week. My 2 girls (6 and 9) are into it as well and did the fit test.

I knew before I bought the Insanity Workout that it was going to be difficult. Even though, I do not like working out, I knew that this would bring me the results that I was looking to achieve. So far, I have completed one week, and I can already feel a difference in my level of energy. My body doesn't show it yet, but I can tell that it will soon. I can't wait to complete the 60 days!

What I like about Insanity is the fact that when you start your exercise with Shaun T you know your going to get a good workout. Me and my best friend actually wrestle for the same high school and we needed a program that we could do together during the off season so that we could stay in great shape, the Insanity Workout has definitely helped us do that. I actually find that I am in a lot better shape come season time because I have done so much work on plyometrics.

I started the Insanity Workout about a week and a half ago. This program is not easy by any means, but it does get you into good shape. I have already begun to loose weight and fit into jeans that I haven't worn for months. I can't wait to see what I look like after another few weeks of this!

I worked out every day, and I loved it...then I got to the second month, and I was hoping that I could just make it through. I have not personally lost any weight. My fat ratio was already very low, so I didn't expect to lose much, if any. I bought Insanity to make my body look toned, and it definitely did that :)

Before Insanity, I gave a go at P90X. It got me into the best shape that I have ever had been, even though I am 40-years-old. So when I saw Insanity advertised, I was very excited. This wasn't anything like P90X which is not necessarily a bad thing. It just has a different focus. It will get you into incredible shape, and most likely into the best shape of your life. Insanity easily beats P90X's Plyometric workout, so I use that when I need an easy day. The only reason I did not give it a full 5 stars is that it didn't really build muscle mass like P90X did. It did make me much stronger, and I constantly feel like I could run a couple miles without breaking a sweat....which is an incredible feeling.

My mom was into fitness, and she always wanted me to do cardio workouts with her. I did, but I started to slack off once I moved. It was not the same when I didn\'t have anyone to work beside me. I needed some motivation, so I started to look towards cardio workout dvds. I found Insanity, and decided to give it a try. At first, I was surprised by the difficulty because I had done cardio all of my life. When it starts to get hard to move, Shaun helps pull you through with his never-surrender attitude. I got the feeling like he was talking to me directly which pleasantly(Albeit gruelingly) pushed me into moving forward.

I tried P90X for awhile, and I really liked it and I got some very good results from using it. However, I wanted to try something different. After completing Insanity, I lost 27 pounds, and I have almost completely cut out my heart medication.

This is the most intense workout that I have ever done. I have already lost 14 pounds in the first 2 weeks. I have been eating healthier than I usual do, so that is playing a big part. I am really looking forward to seeing my results when I complete Insanity. I'll let you all know my stats when I finish.

The Insanity Workout Rocks! I shredded so much weight more than with any other program I have ever tried. The thing I liked most about it was that it did not require any tools like weights or pull up bars.

Just finished my 60 Days, and I going to go in for a second round! I lost almost all of my fat, but I didn't push myself so I did not get the results that I wanted. I definitely look fit, but I haven't achieved the six-pack yet......although I do see some of its definition coming in!

I haven't finished the program, but I am seeing some good changes. I have been losing about a pound every day. I have been building muscle too, so I am not sure how that is affecting my weight. Aside from the scales, I feel a lot healthier.

i recommend it if you want to lose weight. it's great! it also works to get your muscles toned. It's intense. but as soon as you do the first video (cd) you notice it's gonna work not like other workouts where you dont even feel like you've worked out.
