More on Intensity Interval Cardio Training (HIIT). The attraction of HIIT is the benefit of burning more fat with less effort. This was seen in a study released in January 2007 in an article by researchers from the University of South Wales UNSW. The research team leader was associate professor Steve Boutcher who is the head of the Health and Exercise Science program at the UNSW School of Medical Sciences. The group was investigating and trying a different approach to exercising that burns MORE fat than does continuous regular exercise sessions. The study involved women who were considered obese, these women were then divided into two groups to be compared to each other in terms of fat loss results. One group did continuous bike riding in 40 minute sessions while the other only did 20 minute workouts consisting of intervals of 8 seconds of sprints followed by 12 seconds of light pedaling …………….the results were the second group with the session half as long as the first lost three times as much fast as the group that exercised twice as long! This is the essence of HIIT. It appears that intense interval sessions produces high levels of catecholamines which are chemical compounds that facilitate the burning of MORE fat from within the exercising muscles and from under the skin. In the world of apps things are constantly being added and updated so take a little time to read the reviews and pick the one that is best for you. The bottom line here is tracking your progress really helps you keep your eyes on the goal on a daily basis, this will help you succeed and get you excited as you see you are really, really, really on your way!
If you like replacement shakes consider replacing one of your meals with shakeology as they taste great and have very healthy ingredients.
